This song celebrates God’s power, God’s goodness, God’s love shown to us in the giving of Jesus Christ.
And, I think, it asks a question of the worshiper: have you found satisfaction in the love of God? I think this song invites us — at the end of a difficult year, at the beginning of a year of unknowns — to look for the fulfillment of our longings and the satisfaction of our desires only in the exceedingly generous love of God. If we don’t know what this love is, God showed the fullness of His love to us in giving us Jesus Christ, His Son.
